Lords of the Fallen 2 has come a long way. The title was originally announced in 2014 and was supposed to be released in 2017. During development, however, developers and platforms were swapped, which is why production was somewhat delayed. Meanwhile, 2023 is targeted as a planned release, with release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC. Lords of the Fallen 2 joins the list of games that won’t be released for the older console generation. This includes, for example, the new offshoot of the popular Need for Speed series.
Lords of the Fallen 2 will be released in 2023, Unreal Engine 5 could be used
According to CI Games’ latest financial report, Lords of the Fallen 2 (Buy now ) about their “biggest project yet”, with which they want to exploit the popularity of the genre. The recently released Unreal Engine 5 would also be used in the company’s most important IPs, which likely also includes Lords of the Fallen 2.
“With the original title capable of attracting a playerbase of over 10 million, it’s critical that we reconnect with that audience with the next installment, while capitalizing on the significant expansion of the action-RPG genre since the release of the original.. Lords of the Fallen 2 will feature a number of significant improvements, including a new dark fantasy aesthetic that matches the prevailing action-RPG tone, as well as a completely overhauled and challenging combat system.
Promotional activities for Lords of the Fallen 2 are set to begin in the third quarter of this year, so we can expect some hopefully meaningful game trailers and gameplay footage in a few months.
