Auchan remembers cakes with children’s chocolates

Following the scandal surrounding children’s chocolates contaminated with salmonella, Auchan continued Tuesday’s recall of cakes decorated with the brand’s chocolates. The decorative elements of the cake are likely to be affected by the Ferrero recall, according to Rappel Conso, the dangerous product warning website.

“The layered cake, chocolate sponge cake with buttercream and topping is made in the pastry shop. The recipe uses Kinder Chokobons and Kinder Surprise products to decorate the cake,” the government website said. These layered cakes or layered cakes were sold between January 1st and April 7th. They were marketed in several Auchan hypermarkets in the country, notably in Toulon, Perpignan, Tours, Melun, Macon and Montauban. The list of affected lots is available on Rappel Conso’s website.

Symptoms to look out for

It is recommended not to consume these cakes. People who have it in their fridge can throw it away or bring it back to the point of sale. You are entitled to a refund.

Food poisoning caused by salmonella causes sudden onset gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting), often accompanied by fever and headache, which generally appear 6 to 72 hours after ingestion of the contaminated products. Young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals, and the elderly should watch out for these symptoms. If symptoms appear, it is advisable to consult a doctor.
