Gaming News Fortnite: A Pay2Win emote present in the game? A player “accidentally” discovers it and makes it into the top 1
Week by week, Fortnite’s collection of cosmetic items is growing. And sometimes some of them are set incorrectly by Epic Games and allow players to win games. Evidenced by a player’s discovery on Reddit.
- Thousands of cosmetic items
- A Pay2Win emote?
Thousands of cosmetic items
Since its release in 2017, Battle Royalke Fortnite has multiplied the collaboration, allowing you to customize your character. In order to stylize his character to his liking, there is a store where there are various cosmetics. Accessories for the back, the pickaxe but also complete outfits with which you can even take on the appearance of Tom Holland, Naruto or tennis champion Naomi Osaka. In addition, there is one final customization element: emotes. They allow the player, who can activate them at any time in the game, to make a pose or a dance.
All of these cosmetic items are for aesthetic purposes only and should not affect player performance. Why ? For the simple reason that these items are acquired using V-Bucks, the in-game currency that is only refundable through microtransactions. It is therefore necessary that these cosmetic elements do not give an advantage in the game, on the one hand to avoid the incentive to spend money, on the other hand to put all players on an equal footing.
A Pay2Win emote?
For its part, Epic Games must therefore ensure that none of the cosmetic elements deviate from this rule. And if the bet stands overall, there are a few small exceptions. At least that’s what one can believe following a clip shared on Reddit by user Ryzii_Mode-_-. At this address he publishes a short video clip showing him struggling with an opponent for ultimate victory. Without intentionally doing it, he activates the emote plank shot by snowboarder Chloé Kim. And while his opponent is shooting at him, he dodges the shots, which allows him to win back the top 1s.
So buy an emote to win or just luck for the player? If the debate can divide players, remember that this isn’t the first time you’ve been able to dodge bullets with an emote like this. Once the emote dib dab were allowed to dodge while reacting immediately after dodging: an exploit where Epic Games reacted quickly.
