It looks like a gesture of reconciliation: Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan paid a surprising visit to the Queen. On their way to the Invictus Games in the Netherlands, the couple stopped at Windsor Castle. It is the first time Harry and Meghan have visited the Queen since the couple split from royalty two years ago.

According to media reports, during their stopover in England, they also met Harry’s father, Prince Charles, who was also at Windsor Castle for the Maundy Thursday celebrations.

Harry was last in the UK for the funeral of his grandfather Prince Philip almost a year ago. Harry and Meghan did not come to the solemn service on the first anniversary of the death, which was criticized in the British press and in public. Royal fans who had gathered at Windsor Castle on Maundy Thursday were all the more surprised.

The Sussex couple’s two children, Archie and Lillibet, remained in their native California. The queen has still not met her great-granddaughter, who even bears her name. The couple’s visit is seen by many as a gesture of peace. After fierce allegations from Harry and Meghan, in which they even reported racist remarks, the meeting at the castle can be seen as a rapprochement.

This is why Harry and Meghan are in Europe

The Invictus Games begin on Saturday in The Hague. In the Paralympic sports competition, which Prince Harry himself launched in 2014, war-disabled soldiers compete against each other. The Invictus Games in The Hague were originally scheduled to be held in 2020 but were postponed due to the corona pandemic. The next competition will take place in Düsseldorf.

Last week, ‘GNTM’ fans were shocked because, surprisingly, Viola didn’t receive a photo of Heidi – due to her somewhat clumsy, but still honest nature, many viewers immediately took her to heart. Just days after its release, however, a pleasant bang followed: Viola is the face of Jean Paul Gaultier’s new advertising campaign. It is currently placed prominently on the fashion house’s official website. A huge success for Viola, of course.
