Suzuki lead, two official teams lose

Yoshimura SERT Motul’s #1 Suzuki took the lead in the ninth hour when the #5 Honda encountered mechanical problems. The mechanics changed a selector switch before replacing the exhaust. Then a penalty again delayed the bike’s running chart, which saw it slip to third place four laps behind the #1 Suzuki.

Another official team had a mechanical problem. Webike SRC Kawasaki France’s Kawasaki #11 spent 1h12 in his pits. The mechanics took the engine out of the ZX-10R’s frame to de-sick it. The bike is now 39th overall but 49 laps behind the leaders. With hopes of victory gone, pilots Randy De Puniet, Etienne Masson and Florian Marino will line up the squadrons to gain experience with this new machine.

With those two official teams losing ground, Yoshimura SERT Motul’s #1 Suzuki must not let up as YART-Yamaha Official Team EWC’s Yamaha #7 is just 30 seconds away. The Austrian team will push hard for first place. Recall that she took pole position in this 45th edition of the 24 Heures Motos.
Viltaïs Racing Igols #333 Yamaha is fourth overall and best private team position.

In the Superstock category, the battle for first place rages between the #55 Honda from National Motos, the #33 Kawasaki from Team 33 Louit April Moto and the #44 Suzuki from No Limits Motor Team. But some teams have lost their feathers in this battle for the lead. BMRT 3D Maxxess Nevers Kawasaki #24 had exhaust issues. The 2021 Endurance World Cup winners are now 10th in the category. The #72 Suzuki of Junior Team Le Mans Sud Suzuki crashed just before midnight. The automotive student changed the front axle. However, instability problems forced the team to resign, not without showing fighting spirit and real team spirit.
