AS Watson Group Hong Kong Student Sports Awards (HKSSA) has created an NFT certificate for every student-athlete, to encourage young people to pursue their dreams. To allocate NFT STARCERT certifications, professional photographers have been arranged to take photos of each awardee, so they have the opportunity to showcase their athletic talent and convert the photo into an NFT STARCERT certification.
Titled ‘You are a Star’, HKSSA believes that every student-athlete is a star, shining in both the Hong Kong and international sports arena and passing on the spirit of HKSSA’s YES I CAN to the next generation. Not only did the project bring award winners an unforgettable shooting experience, but the NFT STARCERT certificate is also stored permanently so that students can remember the great moments of winning the award. In addition, HKSSA has also selected some outstanding students and invited local artists to draw and design their own NFT STARCERT certificates, in recognition of their efforts while supporting local artists.
HKSSA also invited local sports stars to participate in the programme, and encouraged students to continue to pursue their dreams. Therefore, I immediately participated when I was informed of the NFT initiative. It can recognize and encourage student athletes, especially students with handicap to overcome obstacles and shine like a superstar athlete,” Chan said.
HKSSA is a sports award honoring student athletes from all primary, secondary and private schools across Hong Kong. Each school can compliment one fine athletic talent each year. By rewarding these students for their outstanding performance, HKSSA is dedicated to promoting sports in schools and nurturing the next generation of sports stars.
HKSSA has gained overwhelming support from local schools over the past 17 years. This year, about 80% of schools are participating in the program representing a total of 850 student awards, bringing the total number of student award recipients to more than 14,000 since its launch. HKSSA organizes different activities every year to encourage winners to realize their dreams and realize their dreams.
