Paradigm buys three talented companies

Paradigm Entertainment, a West Hollywood company that owns a talent agency, announced last week that it had acquired three talent representation companies and placed them under the Paradigm Media Entertainment banner.

Terms of the deal between Paradigm, located in the Pacific Design Center on Melrose Avenue, and Blue Equity, a private equity firm headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, were not disclosed. The deal was announced on September 7.

The three talent agencies bought by Paradigm are Napoli Management Group, Two Twelve Management & Marketing, and 3 Kings Entertainment. Naples and the Three Kings represent broadcasting talent, while Two Twelve is one of the leading culinary talent representation firms, dealing with 75 celebrity chefs and culinary stars.

Paradigm Media Entertainment is majority-owned by Paradigm Entertainment, which has a majority interest in the Paradigm Talent Agency. Paradigm Talent Agency and Paradigm Media Entertainment will provide their customers with access to comprehensive entertainment, publishing, brand partnership and news media services for each company, according to a statement from the company.

Sam Gores, founder and CEO of Paradigm Entertainment and Paradigm Talent Agency, will continue to be a shareholder. The statement said that Jonathan S. Blue and Edward H. Harrison III of Blue Equity will remain consultants to Paradigm Media Entertainment. Broadcasting, marketing and entertainment companies Paradigm Media Entertainment will be headed by Mendes J. Naples of the Naples Management Group, Scott Feldman of Two Twelve Management & Marketing, and Matthew Kingsley of 3 Kings Entertainment.

In March, Paradigm Talent Agency laid off 250 employees, and later hired some. The company sold its North American live music acting business last year to Los Angeles-based Casey Wasserman’s sports marketing and talent management firm for an undisclosed price, according to the Los Angeles Times.
