It’s almost payday for LIV Golf players.
For LIV Golf players, the payday is once a month, but it’s worth the wait. With the big-money portfolios out of the 48 field — and the 12 teams of four — LIV is keeping cash flow going as its momentum continues.
Dustin Johnson became the first American – and first major player in LIV Golf – to take a winner’s check at Boston’s latest LIV Invitational event, and cash a $4 million check.
As it turned out, Joaquin Niemann and Anirban Lahiri, both making their LIV Golf debuts, fared well, taking prize checks worth nearly $2 million after a tie for second place.
Interestingly enough, Phil Mickelson, Bryson DeChambeau and other top LIVs haven’t landed on top of the podium yet. Join Johnson to win the championship by Henrik Stenson, Charles Schwarzl and Branden Grace.
The next LIV event in suburban Chicago is the same: the top winner gets the biggest prize of any major golf event, while their teams get a pretty penny to stay in the fight.
