Plane crash kills business owners in Texas


Seligman, Arizona (KFDX/KJTL) – A Texas contractor and his wife were killed in a plane crash in a remote area north of Seligman, Arizona.

According to several family friends, the victims were identified as Chad and Brandy Wilson, owners of the Wilson Contracting Company in Wichita Falls, Texas.

according to Coconino County Sheriff’s OfficeAt approximately 11:48 a.m. (Arizona time) on Tuesday, September 13, deputy mayors from the Williams/Grand Canyon substation responded to the North Seligman area regarding a report of a missing plane.

Representatives reported to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) a plane that veered off radar between Kingman and Flagstaff.

When deputies were unable to reach the area, an Arizona Department of Public Safety air rescue helicopter was called to assist in the search, and the crash site was located and death confirmed at approximately 1:30 p.m. Arizona time.

There were severe storms in the area, and John Paxton of the Central Bureau of Statistics said the helicopter had to leave the scene as more storms moved in.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was notified of the incident and called in for investigation.

David Duke, the Wichita County Sheriff, says his office was contacted Tuesday afternoon, September 13, by people Wilson would have met before a deputy called a Wilson family member at their home.
