Thursday Chamber Event: Youngstown/Wren Regional Chamber will host Good Morning Trumbull! 7:30-9 a.m. Thursday at Grand Pavilion, 9519 E. Market St., Warren.

The cost is $25 per member and $35 per non-member.

The keynote speaker is Patti Zulu, Senior Director, Smart City Solutions for Spectrum and Charter Communications. Rick Rage, vice president of operations for Foxconn North America, and Trumbull County Commissioner Frank Foda are also scheduled to speak.

YSU Recognizes Alumni: Youngstown State University’s Warren B. Williamson School of Business will present the 2022 Distinguished Alumni Awards at a reception on October 14 at the Williamson Auditorium on campus.

The winners are Sue Stricklin, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Simon Roofing; Henry Gomez, chief political correspondent for NBC News; Eric Pittman, director of the Division of Programs at the US Food and Drug Administration; and Cory Patrick, Director of Entrepreneurship Services Program at Youngstown Business Incubator.

FIRM NAMED AMONG BEST: Cohen & Company, which has an office in Youngstown, has been named one of the 50 Best Accounting Firms in the United States by INSIDE Public Accounting for 2022.

VEC Awards Scholarships: Gerrard’s VEC Inc., an electrical and general contractor, has announced the 2022 scholarship winners, all of whom are local students: Evan Davis, Lauren Meadows, and Haley Proteva. Each of them will receive a $500 scholarship.

Davis attends Ohio University with an expected major in finance. Meadows plans to attend Ohio State University to major in choral music education, and Protiva plans include attending the University of Tampa with a major in nursing.

HD DAVIS CPAs NO. 3 on the list: For the second year in a row, HD Davis CPA at Liberty was named Best Company to Work For by Accounting Today. This year it got the status as the No. 3 small company to operate in the country.

Accounting Today is a national publication recognized as one of the most important accounting publications. Each year, it hosts a survey that is sent to businesses across the country and reviews information such as company policies, procedures, and diversity. They also aggregate employee satisfaction with regard to benefits and workplace culture. America Makes Names New Committee Members: As America Makes enters its 10th year, the Executive Committee will help lead the transition to the next phase of the America Makes program. By serving as the Core Strategic Advisory Committee, they will ensure that appropriate strategy, policy, and advocacy are in place for America Mix to achieve its mission.

The 2022-23 Executive Committee is Rachel Andrualonis, Director of Advanced Materials Research, National Aeronautical Research Institute at Wichita State University; Edward D. RIBBON CUTTING SET: QUICKmed Urgent Care will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday noon for its new location at 402 S. Chestnut St., Ravenna. Last week, the locally owned medical clinic opened its doors to provide the residents of Ravenna with its non-life-threatening health services.

Free physical examinations are available for school-aged children until October 31.

KwikMed was founded in 2018, with its first location in Liberty. Ravenna is its ninth location.

MERIDIAN OPENS NEW OFFICE: Meridian HealthCare opens a new chiropractic office in Poland at 2894 Center Road.

The site, formerly known as Dr. Christopher Clottey’s practice and known as Chiropractic and Back to Health, will provide chiropractic and acupuncture services. Clutty will stay in the office.

Chiropractic and acupuncture services can be used to manage chronic pain, increase mobility/range of motion, and improve overall health.

Meridian also has chiropractic offices in Howland and two in Youngstown.

New EWM Restaurant Opening: King Cajun Seafood & Bar, a new addition to Eastwood Mall’s culinary lineup, celebrated its opening Tuesday with a ribbon-cutting party.

The restaurant is located in a separate location on the east side of the mall complex, next to Steak and Shake. The 10,000-square-foot building was once home to another restaurant.

The space has been completely renovated, creating new dining rooms and a full bar. Dishes inspired by Louisiana and Le Country cuisine feature on the menu.

People on the move

Promote 717: Keri Davis was appointed Assistant Director of Consumer Lending and worked with 717 for six years. In her new position, Davis will work with the Director of Consumer Lending to direct the day-to-day operations of the lending production staff.

Factor Joins Potential Development: Potential Development has led to the appointment of Lori A. Factor to the newly created position of Director of Communications.

Factor brings 30 years of experience in communications, public relations and marketing to the organization. She was most recently the Director of Community Engagement and Events at Youngstown State University’s Cliff College and Director of the YSU Summer Arts Festival.

She is a Youngstown native and a 1985 YSU graduate with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, and has held positions at the National Farmers Bank, the former Youngstown District Chamber of Commerce, and the YSU Alumni Association.

iSYNERGY Promotes Inside: Digital marketing agency iSynergy has promoted Jessica Ashcroft to Vice President of Content. With the addition of the role, Ashcroft will expand the division while continuing to help clients gain a better understanding of the digital marketing landscape.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and has worked in the industry for nearly seven years. She has been with iSynergy for over three years. Previously, Ashcroft was a marketing coordinator in Pittsburgh, where she facilitated presentations, designed marketing materials, produced reports, and researched lists of sales leads.

WEARSCH JOINS FARMERS TRUST: The Farmers Trust has expanded its team by adding Attorney Meredith A. Wearsch as Assistant Vice President, managing the trust for the company’s operations at Boardman.

Werch has experience focusing on estate planning, estate and gift tax planning, entity formation and income tax planning. Prior to joining Farmers, she practiced law in Los Angeles and is a licensed attorney in California and Florida.

COLEMAN HEALTH ADDS VP: Nicole Martin, MD, a behavioral health physician in Northeast Ohio, has joined Coleman Health Services as Vice President of Clinical Strategy and Innovation. I started working on September 6th.

Martin of Aurora, most recently served as CEO of Silver Maple Recovery in Lorraine. Prior to becoming CEO, Martin was Director of External Relations.

Her experience includes facilitating all activities for obtaining state licensing, Medicaid registration, and Joint Commission accreditation.
